A Darkened Heart, Adrift (Driftwood Sculpture 2019)

A Darkened Heart, Adrift began with a single piece of driftwood that reminded me of an aorta, found during one of many lakeside walks near my former home. Assembled from gathered wood and accented with 24ct gold leaf, the sculpture reflects themes of resilience, transformation, and the beauty found in what’s been weathered by time. It found its forever home in 2022 at the Music is Art Festival in Buffalo.
